James brings a wealth of experience and expertise to our projects team at Orchis, boasting 21 years of commercial experience primarily within the prime residential sector.  

His career began with a London contractor as a Trainee Quantity Surveyor and progressed to Senior Quantity Surveyor, during which time he gained invaluable experience in a variety of high-end schemes and delivered projects worth up to £60 million. His hard work and positive attitude also led him to take on responsibilities for recruiting and mentoring new trainees, showcasing his leadership skills and commitment to fostering new talent within the industry.

In 2018, James joined a large Countryside high-end contractor, where he excelled as a Senior Surveyor working on prestigious country residences. His outstanding performance and commercial acumen quickly led to a promotion to Divisional Commercial Manager, overseeing the financial management of their large projects division.

He returned to London in 2022 to take on the role of Commercial Manager with a prominent turnkey Contractor in super-prime London, gaining exposure to project strategy from earlier concept stages through to delivery.

James joined Orchis in 2024 as Associate Commercial Director, overseeing the financial management of both London and Country projects.  His proactive approach, flexibility, and proven ability to manage commercially complex projects reflect this passion for excellence and commitment to delivering results.

Outside of his professional life, James enjoys playing golf, travel, and spending quality time with his wife and daughter.
